Save the Med is joining forces with Universitat de les Illes Balears, with the collaboration and support of Fundación Occident.
We are looking for ideas and initiatives that halt the overconsumption and overproduction of destructive materials like single-use plastics.

Our Challenge
Come up with an idea to help change today's throwaway culture. It can be aimed at any sector: your university campus, the tourist industry, agriculture, fashion, events, health, transport, sport...

Fundación Occident follows the path of its founder; Jesús Serra Santamans. Every year, they foster a large number of projects involving research, education, cultural activities, sports and social initiative. This also involves environmental awareness projects, in collaboration with other institutes. The objective of the work is to obtain a positive impact and honour GCO's (Grupo Catalana Occidente) commitment with society.
Save the Med Foundation is a grassroots organisation, made up of a passionate team of professionals and volunteers. Our mission is to regenerate the Mediterranean Sea, one of the most fragile marine environments in the world.

The "Game Changers" project started with a dream of connecting young people with the sea. Furthermore, it aims to promote actions that halt the deterioration of marine ecosystems and the loss of biodiversity due to the problem of plastic pollution.
The UIB is a cutting-edge university for teaching and research. It has deep roots in the region and is committed to society, sowing values that honour humanity with an ever-increasing international calling.
